Practical project management tools and techniques for renewable energy development projects

Overview

Developed in conjunction with the New Zealand Aid Programme Short Term Training Scholarships, this course aims to provide practical learning experiences and ‘real-world’ training to industry professionals in the ASEAN region who are working towards current or future renewable energy development projects. This course aims to develop the understanding of the advantages and challenges of renewable energy systems and covers in detail Solar, Wind, Biofuel, Geothermal and Hydro technologies. Energy economics, grid integration and project management techniques.

Presenters

The course is delivered by the Geothermal Institute, with a presenting team comprising of world class authorities in professional renewable energy project management. Industry experts and top University of Auckland academics will share international best practice specific to the industry.

When is the course

The course takes place Monday 13 March to Friday 7 April 2017.  

It is a full time residential course in Auckland, New Zealand and includes classroom teaching along with a four day field trip to the Central North Island to view renewable energy technologies in practice.

Who should apply

This course is suitable for middle managers from the ASEAN region who currently hold positions in renewable energy development companies.  These could be state-owned-enterprises or independent energy producers.  Ideally participants will come from management roles in renewable energy projects with decision making authority.
