Empowering Geothermal Energy; Increased Utilisation of Geothermal Energy Through New Integrated Geoscience
- Five year project funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
- Lead for the theme: Inverse Modelling and Uncertainty Quantification for Geothermal Models.

Modelling Supercritical Conditions in Geothermal System
- Ongoing project collaborating with teams in Iceland, Japan and the USA
- Developed supercritical models of very hot geothermal systems (Krafla, Iceland)
- Developed supercritical models of multiple geothermal systems (Reykjanes Peninsula, Iceland)
- Developed regional supercritical models of geothermal systems (Taupo Volcanic Zone, New Zealand).
2015 - Present
Modelling Greenfield Geothermal Systems
- Development of conceptual models, Leapfrog Geothermal models and reservoir models using limited downhole data
- Supervised projects investigating systems in Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines and Kenya.
2013 - 2017
Geothermal Supermodels: Integrated modelling tools for geothermal systems
- Five year project funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
- Project developed the free, open-source, parallel geothermal simulator Waiwera.
